Remove the snorkel from the lower airbox and remove the clamshell that surrounds the snorkel. You will see holes in the snorkel. Tape these up with electrical tape. Replace clamshell and put back in the intake, or leave the whole assembly out if you like. Easy to do once you see it.
Your intake will be slightly louder but will be a lot less restrictive.

I just cut the piece off with holes in it flush with the inside of the box and popped the snorkle back into place. Less restriction and greater air flow.
