My local speed shop doesn't mind if I get specialized aftermarket parts drop-shipped to them and they do the install, as long as I talk with them about it first... sometimes they can get a better deal on parts thru their channels, sometimes they can't (and for PTC specialty items, they usually can't).

Of course I pay a premium shop rate for this kind of service... but still less than what the dealer would charge me. And with far fewer hassles.

They guarantee the labor (ie: they do the job right, or they will do it over); the Parts Manufacturer provides warrantee on the parts... my risk is if the parts I bought turn out NG, I am hosed on the labor for the unistall/reinstall, so this only makes sense for parts of the highest quality.
