We all fall prey to the "hacker" style body shops. Myself included. Recently I was detailing my own car after a minor accident and saw fish eyes in the clear coat. Since I can correct this on my own, I plan on doing the work to spare myself more grief. The dull paint can be the result of either not enough clear sprayed, or uneven application. Sometimes you may see swirl marks as well, which is just careless work. In either case, simply make a note of ALL the problems you see. I would look at the car from every angle, in the sun and artificial light. Use your hands and eyes. Feel the finish (check for overspray) and look for fish eyes. (this is when a mico particle gets on the paint before it dries) It should not be a big deal to correct. Good Luck. Gary
