I thought that the shifter came with new harder bushing...no?
Nope what you're seeing that looks like shifter bushings are actually replacements for the bracket mounting bushings (on the four corners of the main unit that ties it to the floor). You ditch the old ones but reuse the metal sleeve from each one. The assembly sits on a small lip at the top of each bushing, the metal sleeve goes down over teh bolt like the stock version had 'em, then the washers you see in the pic go on top of that and sandwiches everything down nice and tight. It raises the entire assembly a bit to allow for more clearence under the new longer shift lever.

It's not the color of the stock shift knob I didn't like it was the size and lack of craftsmanship that I took issue with. I was one of many folks that ended up with scrapes on my palm and the pads of my fingers because of the mold seams on the stock knob. Annoying as all get out.

Aye ptgtcb, that's my dilemma - I like the old school look for the Hurst knob too but with the charcoal interior of a black car it looks a bit odd hehe. To me anyway!
