Bill,

I think aluminium may be just as bad. Aluminum oxide may plug off the holes or at least make them smaller. If you have ever seen aluminum corrode, you know exactly what I am talking about.

How about a carbide-tipped drill bit? That should take care of the holes in the stainless steel tubing.

Besides, you won't have to polish that thing all the time if it were copper or aluminum
