You are correct about the in service date it expires 6 years from the in service date but there are surcharges past certain mileage and times so if you are going to buy it is a good idea to buy it before the surcharges apply.

Whatever you do DON'T buy anything but the Chrysler plan. Take it from someone who has over 20 year dealing with warranty claims most of the other plans aren't worth the paper they are printed on.
