When PT's first came out, because the prop rod for the hood is so small and off to one side of the car, even Chrysler service people would try to close the hood -without- putting the prop rod down. This would result in the hood bending and needing to be fixed or replaced.

It was so bad that when I visited the 2002 Tampa Auto show, the 4 PTs they were showing all had the prop rods removed, for the show.

Hood struts are a great gift to any PT owner. It was the first thing I ever did on my PT. Blaines Struts are known for their quality and ease of installation.

Good luck!
