Default Fun in the snow.

Well this was an interesting morning. I had about 6-8 inches of snow awaiting my shovel. After shoveling out my sidewalk and steps, I then worked on my car which is parked behind my house in the alley. Of course it was way too much to ask that the alley was plowed, so I removed the snow around my car, turned it on and idled it for 5-10 minutes waiting for it to warm up.

I was able to back out into the road just fine, even managed to turn the car and start up the road. Then I realized not 1/2 a block later that 2 cars were stuck. After pushing them out of my way I got back in and took my turn at the dreaded packed-snow-from-plow exit. I got my PT up to speed (somewhere around 20mph) hit the snowbank and got stuck almost immediately. Reverse...nothing, forward...nothing, trac control off...nothing, turning steering wheel...nothing, rocking the car with rapid reverse/forward...nothing. STUCK.

Got out of my car, looked under it and all I saw was packed snow. Got a neighbors shovel and removed all that snow plus the packed snowbank still in front of me. Went reverse for about 1/2 a car length, went forward and shot through the remaining snowbank. Looking back I realized I plowed the snow in the entire alley due to my car being so low.

On the way to work I passed by 2 SUV's stuck along side the road, a jack-knifed 18 wheeler, and my favorite diner... I stopped at my favorite diner.

I have owned 2 minivans, 1 pickup, and now this car. Even considering it is so low, I think it is by far the best vehicle in the snow I have ever had.
