Most scratches/swirls/ and blemishes are most often introduced during the wash/drying cycle. Try to hand wash or use a "no touch" wash whenever possible. Using the correct washing pads, (micro fiber/chanille/synthetic lambs wool) will help also. never touch a car without proper lubrication. By that always pre-soak first. Let the soap emulsify the contaminants. Don't use harsh detergents like dish soap. Clay your car at least twice a year (see www.perfectautofinish.com) use a good cleaner/polish prior to final wax/sealing. Use a synthetic sealant like on my web site will last 6 times longer than wax. On drying, stay away from chamois, or terri towels, use ony a waffle weave micro fiber towel, it is the softest most absorbant cloth on the market. my web site has all you need to keep your car swirl free. gary
