I usually wet sand an area that has a larger chip, but I don't recommomend you do that. In theory the Lanka is supposed to remove the blob part of the paint, but my experience when testing it, I found it to remove all the paint. I hear for some it works ok, why not start with a smaller applicator brush, like an artist brush from a craft store. The blob occurs when you apply too much paint in the chip. The factory brush that comes with the paint is large enough to paint your garage doors, so why use it on a small chip. Make sense?> Gary
