There was an extremely close eye wittness account of the 757 hitting the pentagon. A contractor working on the renovation of the portion of the building that was hit was on his way to a meeting. Rather than going through the building he decided to walk outside since it was a nice day. As he was walking around the building he heard a plane coming in-not unusual since National Airport is about 1/2 mile away. He looked up and saw the plane coming in wheels up right on the deck. It clipped a couple of light standards on the side of I 395 which goes right by the north lot of the Pentagon. He said he thought he was dead but dropped to the ground with the plane going right over the top of him. The blast rolled him around some but the only injuries he received were a couple of bruised knees and some cuts and abrasions. He was interviewed by local TV and his experience was written up in the Washington Post. My daughter worked in an office building in Arlington about 2 miles as the crow flies from the pentagon. She saw the plane go over her building and saw the fireball when it hit.
