That feeds the evaporative emissions system. Darn government. But yes, check to make sure it is seated and also check it periodically to make sure it is not rubbing through because you engine will flex and move back and forth. What you could due is trim and 1/8 th inch off of the elbow where it connects to the intake manifold and put it back on. That should give you just the right amount and put your mind at ease.
