Welcome to the forum.
The puddle is normal and is condensation from the condenser of the air-conditioning. You don't need to run the air-conditioner for the puddle, having the control switch pointing towards the front window for defrosting or clearing the window will also run the condenser.
City driving with the PT will bring your mileage way down..hate to say it, but expect somewhere in the high teens.
