Someone please explain to me why a radiator flush is needed. It's a sealed system. Does scaling still occur with the new coolants? I feel the "old" water in the mix is better than fresh, because it's had most of the air driven out of it.

The coolant breaks down over time and needs to be replaced. if you don't think so check the overflow tank and you will notice crud starts to form around the bottom of the tank.

Have to agree with bigtommy I have never seen brake fulid flushed unless there is a leak. The only way for moisture to get into the system is a leak or someone removes the filler cap way too often
