Retro,

I agree with everything in your post except for the spelling of "suceed", ironically in your conclusion about spelling and grammar.

The thing is about young voters, who think they are knowledgeable, is that they are getting their political acumen from the likes of Michael Moore, Dan Rather and Doonesbury.

A guy at the office was explaining to me how I should believe Moore’s movie because it was all direct quotes and video clips that “don’t lie”. If Moore was filming a documentary on Jesus, he would show a video clip where Jesus tells people to “cast the first stone” at the woman caught in adultery. In case you aren’t familiar with the story, Jesus says “he who is without sin cast the first stone”. The people realize that they are all sinners and let the woman go.

Nowadays, it is so easy to debunk so many of the arguments people like Moore present as “facts”. A guy at the office told me about how Moore was filming outside the Saudi embassy and Secret Service agents checked on him to make sure he wasn’t “casing the joint” for a terrorist attack. Moore points to this as proof that the Bush administration is in league with the Saudis. I was curious about what my friend said, so I decided to look in to it.

I went to the Secret Service web site to find out about it. Within 2 minutes, I’d found out that in addition to protecting the president, VP, etc., the Secret service is to protect “visiting heads of foreign states or governments and their spouses traveling with them, other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States, and official representatives of the United States performing special missions abroad”

I found it peculiar that Michael Moore with his big film budget couldn’t afford $15/mo internet access. Or couldn’t find 2 minutes to determine why the Secret Service might legitimately be at the Saudi Embassy. Or maybe he did know this, but trusted in the ignorance of his audience not to find this out.

I then went looking and found this web site:

It tells you all you need to know about Fahrenheit 911, including legitimate criticism of the Bush administration.
