I agree. If time and the weather permits, it's better to do it yourself. Nothing like the satisfaction of looking a nice clean, shiney car knowing that you took the time doing it yourself. You're neighbors will often acknowledge the nice PT as they drive/walk by, as mine do. As one passerby said, "I don't even let the dust accumulate on the car".
