Did you figure it was a stone or a stress crack? I had an incident last year with a Taurus on the 405. A truck ahead of me ran over a 2' piece of angle iron and sent it at my windshield a 70mph+. I swirved and it took my driver side mirror clean off. Another foot to the right and I'd be sitting on someone's sholder teling them to watch out!
