Oil lights are almost always a pressure switch, not level. If there is enough oil, and the motor sounds okay, it is probably the oil pressure sending unit, or the connector. To be REALLY sure, a gauge should be put in the same threaded hole and the pressure checked. The old spec was 10 psi for each 1000 RPM, but the new engines with tight tolerances and thin oils can be even lower. Most switches don't work unless the pressure drops to 2.5 or 5 psi!
