Actually, yes. I'd planned on this method from the start but the problem is that the mount plate which currently supports your caliper also acts as the mount point for all the parking brake bits inside. Adn the cable anchor.
Even this was not the end of the world. But it would require the existing plate be removed, cut down, a second plate for the new caliper be fit, and finally the old plate re fit as well. Even at THAT it's doable, but with a second 'new' mount behind the old one the drum/hat would have to be shifted out the same amount....or the hat would not seat on the shoes properly. And then we'd have about 3/8" wheel spacer built in too!
Any way I cut it, it just kept getting uglier and uglier. The current set up is a simple bolt on and only moves the wheel out a smidge. In the future I can change the bracket for the new rear caliper with the parking brake if I wish. Much more sano package.
Keep an eye out next issue or the one after that of Grassroots Motorsports where my front kit was selected for their SRT4 project car too! Should make for a nice article. Fit wise they chose the .81 rotor kit as it's the most wheel friendly over other larger kits including my track kit. No rears on it for now however.
