eddie, I haven't tried the silicon sealer/gasket maker to attach mirrors but I have not had very good luck with the aftermarket adhesives. They will work for a while then one day you find the mirror on the floor. Very hot days with the sun shining on the rear of the mirror seems to be a big problem for the adhesive.
You might consider not having the dark tint go below the top of the mirror adhesive. If the tint goes down very far, it is going to reduce your visibility some, especially seeing traffic lights.
