BOB S. looked at this last year. the motor is the same as the GT, the tranny is NOT! that is why you can't switch modules. You can do a S1 on a turbo lite & get the same HP as a stock GT. If you add S1 to a GT, you get more power than a turbo lite w/ a better tranny & also a choice of tranny... manual or autostick.
The weakest link on the lte is the tranny. it is the same as the N/A pt's. but they are still good to about 300hp.
Adding Stage 1 to either a Turbo Lite or the HO GT nets the same result - 235-240HP. Stage 1 effectively levels the playing field.

The only difference in the auto tranny between the Lite and HO GT is that the Lite does not come with the Autostick feature. brngrhd is a DCX Tranny Tech and claims them to be the same unit other than the Autostick programming.

They can actually handle more than 300HP, but 300ft-lbs of torque will kill them. With the big torque numbers we can easily make, it's no wonder people who are adding electronic boost controllers, aftermarket WGAs, or management systems like the Psi-Fi PowerPaq, etc are killing those trannies. We'll make 300ft-lbs long before we'll make 300HP, and rather easily too.
