I strongly believe I can get the engine and have it installed installed for under a grand. Its either that, or get the engine, take off the turbo, and install it on my engine. I am also thinking of just trading in my pt, but id have to put the oem exhaust back on and whatever else. Would it be possible to just take the turbo off of the gt and put it in my n/a?

edit: There are a few ways around stage 1 but with added performance right? Like the AGP WGA, Boost controller, and whatever else. When I came up with this, I figured that even if I wasnt satisfied with the added 70 hp, I could do other things than just Stage 1. I just want a faster car. Im done with being a snail.
I think you're stongly deluding yourself. Assuming you got the engine for free, and somenoe to install it for free, you would still need tons of auxilliary parts that are not free. You'd need a new PCM. Go get a price on THAT from a dealer, even with a discount. You'll need the intercooler and the piping, and that isn't cheap, no matter if you do it Mopar or aftermarket. Also, keep in mind that the non-turbo cars had a smaller lower front grille opening, so the stock intercooler won't be as effective on your car as it would be on a GT. You would need al the intake plumbing and whatnot, and possibly a new throttle body. Not to mention all the sensors (assuming your engine doesn't come with them) like MAP, TIP, etc.

People are telling you to go with the Hahn turbo kit for a reason, it's proven power. If you want to try something "out there" like a GT engine swap, be willing to sacrifice the car, because once you start trying to move things around to fit the GT engine in the car, you'll be lucky to remember where everything used to go when if you find out it doesn't work and need to swap the stock engine back in.

Sounds like you are still living with your folks, either because you're young or you have al ot of college debt or something. Be smart. Make a minimal investment in your car (a few thousand) on a proven system, and get some extra power. Otherwise, ride out this decision you made and wait till it's paid off before you go hunting for your next project. Consider it a life lesson, and learn from it. I did this early on, now I will never own a car with less than 200HP, because I know I, like Tim Allen, need MORE POWER.
