lil, it's hard to see just lifting the hood, but if your car is safely on ramps or jackstands, you will be able to see it from underneath. It is a good idea to have someone with experience give you a hand, or at least QA your work. It isn't any harder than changing a tight lightbulb, but the consequences of a mistake are a LOT more costly...
