Maybe Chrysler made a different wiper motor(that fits thru that hole). Did you check for different wiper motor numbers for different years? Just a thought. [:I]

I may have your answer. I took the motor out of mine on my 2001 to put a handle on the back window. I just measured the shaft that goes thru the hole in the back window and it's only 7/8" so it would fit the 15/16" hole that you have. The part number on the motor is 05288703AB. So it looks like they did put a different motor (larger shaft in the 2003 PT (yours) and you got a back window with a hole for the older 2001 (mine) PT...although you said there was only one number for the back window?
