You can fit a 225/45 on a 6" wide wheel it will be a tight fit getting them installed on the wheel but they will fit. with a 45 series tire however the sidewall has to very stiff so this will cause some minor cupping of the tire and may lead to some premature tire wear.
Also a 225/45 is a closer match in diam. to the stock diam. so the speed reading will be more accurate.I am running a 215/50 and my speedometer is off bye about 1-2 mph.

Any good tire shop should be able to mount a 225/45 tire though.
