I'm running 225/45/17 Hankook K-104's on 7" rims. I have 16,000 miles on them and I'm getting center wear. I keep the tires at 38 psi and would lower the pressure to even the wear, but I've already bent one rim on a pothole. I also wanted to try mounting them on the stock rims, but most tire shops that I went to advised against it. I think your center wear would be even greater than what I am experiencing. A 7 1/2" rim is actually a better fit for the 225/45.
