Only complaints I've heard about any strut bar was some clearance issues - bar hitting hood - mostly w/APC bars.
Have not heard of any bar not "lasting" - do you mean rust? I have an aluminum pro-Felge bar, which I liked because it was straight between the towers, but I don't think you can do wrong with either BTG or Freedom Design.
