Is the Freedom Design well built? Is it lasting? Better than the BTG?

I'm happy with my Freedom Design Tower Strut bar. It's a one piece design with stainless steel tubing welded to the mounting plates and if you have a stick shift, it's the only strut bar that doesn't require you moving or relocating the clutch fluid reservoir or limiting access to anything else. There aren't any adjustments you need to make or are required during the install, just bolt it in. For the price, it's hard to beat. Turbo/GT versions include the extra mounting plates needed for the right side.
All the available tower strut bars pretty much do the same thing equally, except for the early APC ones (it was just a thin mild steel rod that flexed too much and many had clearance problems that required some modifications. In other words, it was badly designed and really didn't do what it was supposed to do).
If you prefer the design and looks of the BTG, it's up to you to make that purchasing decision.
