You are also supposed to hook up the ebrake switch, which, if disengaged will kill the car. So...you can't drive away with the ebrake on, therefore, the theif will disengage the ebrake, and will kill the car. If you had an automatic, and you were cunning, you could put a switch on the brake switch, so if the key isn't in it will kill the car, because you have to press the brake to take it out of park.
