he also had a great idea for a different type of stitch (see the above link). called a baseball stitch. looks really, really good. (but, put at least three hours aside to do it and wear some type of leather gloves - pulling the cord tight enough will cut into unprotected hands!). he was even nice enough to send me an extra needle and spool of thread to do the stitch!
