I was mistaken. I thought the relearn should be done when the battery is disconnected, but it must be in non-volatile memory. It only needs to be done when something is done to the PCM or the tranny. It is a series of acceleration runs so the transmission and PCM can 'learn' how to shift properly. Pardon my stick-oriented brain.
