I would appreciate some imput from members here who are Mopar techs or independents who have first hand experience with repair frequency on the Chrylser automatics. Do more DC trannys fail than other brands? I'm inclined to think that, overall, DC transmissions are no better or no worse than other brands. Maybe that is wishful thinking, but I'm sure Consumer Reports must look at warranty repair reports and other data before rating reliablity of various brands. What do you think?
The company I work for has outside sales reps. They typically drive Dodge intrepids and a woman I work with also has an older Intrepid. The sales reps have put on about 120000-170000 on their Chryslers with no transmission issues. The woman I work with had her transmission go at around 160000. My sons Chrysler mini van had the transmission go out at about 60K and I know a guy who has put 135000 on his automatic PT with no issues. Consumer Reports frequency of repair tables don't seem to show a trend. Maybe it's luck of the draw.
