I guess it all depends on your philosophy about cars. If you buy them new and sell them in a few years, I guess Chrysler isn't for you.
If you buy them used, the car has already depreciated, so you get them for a bargain. The PT Cruiser is more reliable than it's reputation. So buying it used and holding on to it is a good investment
The $6,000 drop in the base price (was it really that much?), also seems to me like a good thing. You get the same car for less money. What's wrong with that? Unless you resent the fact that someone else got a better deal than you. But really, that's no skin off your nose. You still have a good car.
If you're concerned that it reduces the resale value of your car, then I'd think the last thing you'd want to do is sell it. That's like buying stock high, and selling it low. I'd hold on to it until I'd gotten my money back through the life of the car.
I hear of people doing that sort of thing all the time. They see a stock soaring high, so they buy it. But they've bought it after it already skyrocketed. Then when it dips somewhere along the way they sell because it's doing so poorly. Buy high, sell low. That's not my philosophy.
Anyway, The Murano is a nice car. 0-60 in 7.5 sec. Not bad! I'm sure you'll love it.
