Air intake is thru the 'mesh' that surrounds the window washer filler on the passenger side.
First clean the top of the mesh, then...
You can remove it by carefully popping out the plastic 'screws' that hold it in (they aren't really screws, but plastic 'rivets' that can be reused if carefully removed, the secret is to get the center 'screw' to come up which will then allow the base to be pried up).
you will then have access to the intake plenum for cleaning.
