Opie, as someone has stated. You need to submerge them in water. But, just putting in what I know about your type of rims( I deal with high brand rims quite often) are. I would say you have metal valve stems correct( not metal sleeves over rubber stems)? Those metal stems bolt to the wheel. They are threaded, you stick them through the wheel & tighten them down with a nut. They also have 2 rubber washers on both sides of the rim. These rubber washers are known to go bad quite often & rather fast. They are a pain in the "you know what".
If someone put the tires on improperly they can hit the stem & it will flex causing the washers to either crush & rip or could completly remove them. That would be obvious because the stem would flex.
Also IF you have the rubber stems on there. That could also be the problem, as these types of rims do not fair well with rubber stems.
