Tough assignment, advising people on where to put pinstripes is about the same as telling them what color to choose..what do you think looks best, what do you want to do..that's the beauty of personalization. "Von Dutch"-type of pinstriping ala 50's and 60's styled Customs are best done by hand by a true pro. It'll cost more than tape or vinyl applications, but looks great..however, after time, they're vulnerable to weather, waxing, and repeated car-washes. I've also always thought a pinstripe should accent a body line, not interfere with it. "Cruise" through the past PT's of the week on this site and see all the different approaches to striping..from wild full-side graphics to simple understated single or double pinstripes. My own PT has a double pinstripe along the top of the beltline that runs around the entire car and lines up with the lower edge of the hood. Absolutely perfect for a classic, elegant, retro-style pinstripe that surrounds the car nose-tail. Eighth inch and sixteenth inch compliment each other very nicely. Have fun.
