Since most manufacturers assume that at loaded capacity, there will be a combination of men and women in the vehicle, they typically use an average weight of 150-155 lbs per person. The 865 lbs total is the real guiding number in this case.

The standard used for motorhomes is 153 lbs average weight per person across the industry, so Chrysler's 150 is reasonable. They probably also assume that some of the 5 people are likely to be children.
