I agree with sci-fi..change the oil and filter after even 500 miles. There are bound to be minute traces of metal shavings in a brand new engine. Then, (maybe disputable) I would break it in the way you're going to drive it. Vary the speeds, but don't be afraid to wind it up occaisionally..they love it. If you drive it too easy..it'll "think" you want to be that way all the time. These engines adjust to the owner's style of driving. Mine winds up all the way to redline effortlessly, 'cause I've driven it that way (w/o abusing it) since day one. Changing the oil and filter every 3,000 miles is imperative to engine life..don't be fooled by 5,000-7,000 mile claims, no matter how easy you drive it, or how many freeway miles you do in between changes.
