thanks for this info but you all misunder stood me. i have the correct keys for the car the car starts and runs good with them. i had 2 keys cut at a local key place the are just for use in case i lock my good keys in the car and need to open the doors. now for the real question.
i put the fake key in the ignition and start the car it quits in about 2 seconds as you mentioned. i know this. what i want to know is if i place the computer chip key on the steering wheel and use the fake keys the engine will start and run. i need to know if the computer key has a battery in it that will go dead if the key is fixed to the columb? if the key will not go dead i will remove the cover to the columb and wire tie the real key inside there somewhere. even if i have to cut off the chip end and stuff it in there. if the real key will go dead then i have to figure out a different approach.
this is also good for installing a remote starter. i have a wire diagram that show wrapping the ign switch and key to a relay to assit the remote starter but again if the real key chips go dead then i will have to figure it out a different way. thanks everyone for the replys.
