Renichms, Unless I'm wrong (an that's always a possibility) when you talk about increasing displacement, your talking changing the liter capacity of the 2.4 up to a higher number. Long time ago I had a 57 Chevy with a V8 283 cubic inches. The big thing back then was to "punch-out" that 283 to a 301 cubic inch motor. Heavy machine work, new pistons, rings, rods, bearings lots of labor and $money$. Yea, it ran like a frightened rabbit, but the 3 speed trans and rear differential wasn't able to keep up with the extra power so more $$$$. We weren't worried about gas milage back then but usually, the more power you put out the more fual/air you need to run....plus I would think nowadays the computer would have to be reprogrammed to compensate for the extra displacement.
