Default Giving Vin# to DC for Stg. I kit, No Worries

Here is the info you have been looking for.

When placing the order for the Stg I kit your vin# is needed to inter the skim code so your pt will start. The guys that are coding the ecm are the only people that use your vin# and no other division of DC uses or keeps your vin# for any reason. It is not given to the dept. that controls warranty or relayed to the dealer body nor flaged to your vin# in DC's computer sys. [8D]

Now here is the way to insure your local dealer doesn't give you any problems. If your pt is in for service they won't open the hood and the Stg I kit sreams out (here i am!! see me) but if they were to read the part # off the ecm and track it they might think there is something up. However if you are having runing problems take the Stg I kit off before going in for deivability problems. [8D]

When you order your kit place the order with a dealer not in your area and not from the dealer that does the service work on your pt. Install your kit yourself or have someone else besides the dealer do it so they don't have a service record of this install. They are the only people who can place a flag on your vin#. (but if they don't know and you don't tell them you should not have a problem) [^]

Good things are coming with the warranty on performance parts !!!

Remember your warranty is not voided by just installing this kit, you have read all the post about this subject and should understand how it works by now.

I hope this makes some of you guys feel better about the Stg I kit, i am a true believer in this kit and MOPAR making a quality product that we all will be proud to install on our gt's

thanks Tommy[^]
