Ok first of all thanks for watching out for the fella, but his question was "How loud is yours?" not "does it cause damage?". I've been competing in Bass offs for almost a decade, I've sat in cars that were louder than 150 DB its a rush, and yes I had ear phones on. However here is a comparison chart 140db is = to a shot gun blast at point blank range, 120 db is = to a Nascar event near the track and 170 db is = to a shuttle launch, which by the way any hardcore competitor backing a sponser will tell you is the mark everyone wants to hit. Bass offs are fun! Its a great way to meet people and show off your ride and there is much satisfaction and pride involved when you take home a trophy. Way to go man on the 144 db. Your right PTs are great for bass. I got a 145 db out of my set-up a while back in VA at DB Drag event. I got a JL Audio 13"W6V2 in a sealed box with a JL Audio 500/1 Mono Block Amp pushing it. They sound great. I have a hearing problem now too, they were right in cationing you about it, but its fun and its a great hobby to enjoy. Cool cars and great systems and cool people you meet and hang with. You can't customize any vehicle now a day without an awsome stereo. We play it loud and proud.[?]
