Gary,
Make sure there is dielectric grease in the socket, then reinstall the bulb. Most people miss this step when they install a new bulb. This is important because the grease keeps out moisture which corrodes the connection. Let us know what you find out. I had a similar problem last year which was related to my trailer hitch wiring
