From your description, it appears that the parts guys just pulled the stock OEM Copper Plus Plugs from the shelf to show you. The Double Platinums (platimum on the center and ground electrodes), from what I understand, are now standard on all the new mini-vans (including the 2.4L engined minivans, which is the same engine currently in the PT). Might be better just to order them at your local auto parts store and have the dealer install it for you. Or you could wait until the dealer actually orders or stocks the correct spark plug. As a further note there is an intermediate design from Champion called Platinum Power which has a copper core with a platinum tip and copper ground electrodes and those were used as standard equipment on earlier Chrysler engines, but won't work on the current engine designs because of the shorter length. Since the production of Champion Double Platinums for the PT is fairly recent, I find at this point, one still has to special order the plugs.
