I still disagree & think this is open for interpretation.
Many people think that the "domed shape" of the piston makes it a hemi. Having built hundreds of Mopar engines, it is clear that you could put domed pistons (though not as domed as a hemi) on any of the big v-8s, but it still would not be a hemi.
The hemi head claim to fame is the location of the valves--
"The Hemispherical cylinder head allows the valves to be inline rather than side-by-side."
Hence, the location of the valves is the key--and the 2.4 (as do most OHC engines, has hemispherical combustion chambers.
