At the Bloomington Gold show (the largest Corvette show in the state) they had certified judges from all walks of the car industry. They walk around with Q tips and check to see if the cotton turns a shade dark, under the hood one guy had a 89 Corvette and the judge was checking ALL serial numbers on the components, and he had a HUGE book with him which listed all models of Corvettes along with matching numbers for that year/model. One guy lost points because he replaced his air cleaner cover with a 87 part and his was an 88. In owner shows, its NOTHIING like that. They walk around the cars look (don't touch at all) and vote.
