My secret is that I have never washed my car out side. I'm lucky enough to have a three car garage, and pull it in there side ways and wash it there under the cover of shade and little air movement. I also dry them first thing so they don't have time to spot.
And always dry with microfiber. And never close the door by the pillars, always by the the door handles. That keeps the acids from your hands off the pillars.
