Well, I don't know that's what he told me, and he has been in the machine shop of RPM Engines for many many years here in California. He even told me why, for about 10 minutes, giving me the exact faulty stock specs of the gaskets, clearances, etc. and what exactly happens. Said he worked on that engine a lot, and had seen it over and over. He then continued with the warning that when you add a turbo, and then NOS, you are asking for trouble, and would not recommend it. They're shop did do the install, but with his warnings. Anyway, I do hope he is wrong, and that my big concern is with the tranny staying together. I should have about 310 HP after the Stage 1 install.
Your mechanic is talking about the standard PT cruiser, which is plagues with head gasket problems. Was he aware you have the SRT engine, not the PT engine?

People on this forum talk about the two interchangeably, and they are completely different.

The SRT is very robust, and will kill trannies before you hurt the engine.

The updated Neon engine, which is in the other PT's, is a piece of crap. Turbo'd or not.

Cheers

Joe
