If you want the looks of the Airaid or K&N FIPK, then spend the money. If the looks aren't important, but the performance increase is, then buy the K&N drop in filter for $30.00 (varies) and a 3" aluminum duct elbow for a $1.60 from the hardware store. Open your filter box, remove the stock filter and the white plastic nozzle. Remove the bottom half of the filter box and pull out the plastic snorkel that extends down into the fender well opening (cold air supply). Then place the duct elbow over the opening in the side of the box and trace it's outline. Using whatever tools you have, I used a Dremel tool, cut out the existing opening to allow you to insert the aluminum elbow into the box. Use some glue to hold it the elbow in place and put the lower box back on it's mounts. Make sure the duct is just over the opening to the fender well. Drop in the K&N filter and you're ready to go. You'll get all the cold air the engine can use and a real nice throaty sound when you push down on the accelerator. All for about one quarter the cost of the Airaid system. Adding the 3" elbow made a world of difference in my car over just adding the K&N filter.
