I searched for a turbo or supercharger for my 2001 PT, all the manufacturers (Hahn & Whipple) said their products just bolt on.
I spoke with some owners around the world and found this not the case!
In the end I booked my car in with AVO here in Australia, for approx $3000 USD (drive in drive out) I got a turbo done right with the following:
New exhaust, New over sized injector valves, Hi PSI fuel pump, 12lb boost, slave computers, variable boost control, boost gauge, new intakes, intercooler and a few other goodies!
The Hahn system I am told uses the old injectors and simply places a hi PSI fuel pump on them, people have told me how the lines have ruptured and fuel sprayed everywhere, in a couple of cases the car went up in flames! In Australia using the Hahn system without an intercooler would be stupid, the car would cook in 5 mins with our hot summer temps!
One PT Owner in Europe who is a Chrysler dealer and qualified Chrysler mechanic put a whipple on his PT and the valaves burnt out in under 25 miles, despite a lot of money he still has not got his Whipple to work and is about to bin the Whipple and look at other solutions.
AVO export around the world, if anyone is interested they can drop me a line at
rmaudio@rmaudio.com.au and I can put them in touch.
With the Aussie dollar worth a lot less that the USD there is good reason to look down under for some PT performance parts.
